Here are a few of my ideas for the next version:
- Leader bibs in custom tournaments.
- Wind compensation points + the ability to lower the starting gate during competitions.
- Optional dynamic skill system for CPU players: CPU skill increases when they achieve high rankings and decreases when they perform poorly.
- Optional advanced skill settings for CPU players: Beyond the standard three bars, include additional options like: stability (fall risk), style, and distance.
Note: This would reduce the chance of weak jumpers suddenly appearing in the World Cup Top 10 ahead of the best athletes. However, with the dynamic system mentioned above, they could still improve their skills in lower leagues (FIS Cup or Continental Cup).
- Visuals: More diverse spectators, crowd movement/animations (e.g., waving flags), and additional jumper animations after landing (e.g., unfastening skis, waving to the crowd).
- Weather impact: Heavy snowfall should make it difficult to gain speed on the in-run or affect the take-off mechanism.
- Result table indicators: Visual markers in the results table showing position changes between rounds (e.g., green/red arrows with a number indicating how many places a jumper gained or lost).
- Injury system: In offline modes, any jumper can suffer an injury after a fall. To keep the system simple and readable, injured jumpers could have a small marker displayed next to their name with a number indicating how many competitions they will miss, and they would be unavailable for selection until the absence period ends.
Most of these features could be introduced as optional settings so no one is forced to use them. Players who want more advanced gameplay could use the new options, while fans of the current style could continue enjoying the game as is.
