What a crazy story for me... This update reminds me of my idea for DSJ3 update that I posted on this very Forum, 24.01.2007 - almost 19 years ago! Such a long wait to make my dream update come true, but it was worth it! Back then I was only 13 years old, now I'm 32 Time flies! And I still play the game - not so often as in the past, but still, from time to time Thank you for everything, Jussi!

I just wanted to drop by and say a massive thank you for the long-awaited update. I’ve been checking regularly for almost two years — literally every few days — and I’m so happy that the moment finally came. Totally made my weekend!

To celebrate the update, I went ahead and bought a proper license key. I’ll be honest: in the past I played using pirated keys. I’m not proud of it — consider this me beating my chest a bit and apologizing. The amount of work, passion and dedication you put into DSJ over the years deserves way, way more respect than that.

This game has been a part of my life for so long, and you keep it alive with such amazing care. Thank you again, truly. You earned every bit of support and more.

This update is exactly what I wanted to have a couple years back, when I was playing whole WC season, but I counted every competition, every cup (Nations Cup, TCS, RA, etc.) - in Excel. The same goes for choosing jumpers for each competition. I played every competition seperately, because I wanted to change jumpers from comp. to comp. Because athletes can be in better and in worse shape, and they can miss some competitions, some can come later in the season.
As I say, I used to do all of that manually and tbh sometimes it consumed too much of my free time and yet I bothered to do it.

But now thanks to you we have all of that in one place!! Honestly aside of custom hills update, this one is the best update!

I really like what you've added in this update. It will greatly help with simulating entire seasons without using Excel. However, I have one question: would it be possible to create a tournament that would count individual player scores from both individual and team competitions, like in Planica 7?

Hello Jussi, just wanted to thank you for this great update. Like many here, I have also had to keep separate Excel lists in order to make different competitions during a season.
Two small things:
- Could we get the possibility to toggle on/off the light beam behind the jumper? (I am not the biggest fan of this light beam).
- Could we get the ability to edit the Teams xml-files like the ind. events? So that one could have more than 8 teams jump in the 2nd round for example.

Trial round is not possible at the moment for individual competitions.

There is no option to have a "final of the season" competition (like in Planica) - with 30 best jumpers from the World Cup competing in it (without qualification round).

Thanks Jussi! Really solid update, it makes the offline game much more interesting. It’s amazing that you’re still supporting the game after all this time. Can’t complain about the pace of updates when they’re free!

I just want to ask, is there any chance for a refresh of the HUD, menus, or stat tables? Being able to customize these things would be even better. It would be cool to have the option to pick different HUD styles for specific competitions or seasons. I think a refresh like that would be useful and add even more fun to the game.

That would be a nice change. It would be great if game would also support Custom Images on menu, like you put them in the folder (correct resolution) (put DSJ 4 menu image for example for people to copy) and then you can change it to whatever you want without the usage of texmod or whatever they used. Colors would be also nice.

My own suggestion would be custom minifaces for jumpers, so if few people wants the game to look even little bit more realistic they could import any miniface (ex.: 256x256 image of a jumper) and it would show up at the jump. But I wouldn't want it to be permanent. Also maybe an option to hide the player name at the bottom (or adjust time / or keep it) when it would fade, also would be nice.

I like the change of nationalities that you don't need to write them anymore, Jussi should update DSJ3 a little bit with the same option - it would be POG seeing country flags instead of the tag names which look meh.

@JussiKoskela will you make some day DSJ 2 compatible with modern systems? So we wouldn't need to use dos emulators? Would be epic too
