Ideas & suggestions for next beta/full version
Re: Ideas & suggestions for next beta/full version
But in the air or when you landed?
I was talking about something in the air, a kind of "acrobation"

question for jussi: does the length of the jump have any influence on the style points?
i have just read the international competition rules and there is no direct indication that the length of the jump should have any influence on the style points. but some could say the jump wasn't good in a "style point way" if the jumper only reaches 70% of the hill size. i think that is also what we see in reality. therefore i would like to have this implemented, because as far as i have noticed, i don't think the jump lenght has any influence on the style points.
for example: jump lenght 90% or more of hill size -> max points 20.0
jump lenght 80% to 90% of hill size -> max points 19.0
i think severin could give us additional information (if he wants to

The length of the jump has no direct influence to the style points in DSJ4. The judges are evaluating the aerodynamics of the flying position as they should. But obviously in real competitions it's much easier for the judges to tell if the flying position was optimal based on the actual length than by observing the ski jumper's postures.philipez wrote:question for jussi: does the length of the jump have any influence on the style points?

Re: Ideas & suggestions for next beta/full version
that's odd. I can get 20s when jumping 20m below the K-point, as long as I start my telemark early enough.

That's one of the issues that the judges in beta-2 are neglecting. They evaluate the timing of the landing based on how long it took to land - not on how much longer you could have jumped.alexander wrote:that's odd. In practice mode, it would be useful to start a new jump right after pressing a certain key. The was it's handled now is somewhat tiresome.

Jussi, theoretically, if you put to the game different styles (V, II) would it affect aeorodynamics or is it only an optical change?

Everything affects everything.piter_ski wrote:Jussi, theoretically, if you put to the game different styles (V, II) would it affect aeorodynamics or is it only an optical change?
one or two more distance lines after HS
jussi. when most of us jump even up to 15 meters after HS line in kulm for example, it is a little "lineless" there. i think it would be nice if there are also lines for 205m and 210m for example.
and in lillehamer 140m and 145m and soo on
like here:

or even just on big hills
thanks

particularly on flying hills would it be better to have a better orientation wich hight you have

This idea sounds very good and in my opinion it isn´t very difficult to include 2 or 3 lines
And also in the replays it would be very nice (f3 or f4)

yeah looks good, except the twigs that are messed up should be smaller (in reality I think they are parts of twigs from lines that have been cut off by skis so they should be smaller)
