hi jussi,
i think i dont have to tell you that i like modelling hill
so i read in the forum that you are using notepad+ to modell
the hills of dsj, so searched for that software but i only found
a html editor instead of a 3d programe :|
so i ask you which programe are you using?

thanks :D

Notepad++ it's a big joke ;]
I know one way to write shapes manualy by numbers (OpenGL, DirectX),
but this takes lot of time and thousend lines of codes (uncomfortable).

Am sure that, he is using 3ds Max or other similar 3D programs.
Then export as .hil file then open models in Graphic Engine wirten by him self in
Microsoft Visual C++. Then including the hill to the game.

I am using Notepad++ as I told earlier. Basically I write in the parameters for the hill by hand and then my hill engine generates the final 3D model.

sounds pretty complicated :?
wouldnt it be much easier to just modell the hills like in other 3d programes?

It depends pretty much on the complexity of the geometry. If the architect has been very creative it would certainly be easier to model the hill in a 3D program. But I would still need an importer/exporter for the profile data and 3D models... and also some practice on using the 3D tools. :)

It's not easy to get right 'profil data' of the hills in any of 3d programs, like (3DS Max, Blender, etc.)
especially when you got just few parametrs (inrun 37.5, takeoff 10,5 and outrun 35). So the best option for modeling hill
is in my opinion write generator just like Jussi did. ;]

You write Generator by you self (If you did what language do you use to write him?) or you based on something?

you must enter key, which is good for a hill, and next convert to .hil, ease job :p
