Can anyone explain how the settings for the CPU players work?

What is the difference between 800 - 1000 - 1200 - 1400?
Is it skill or maybe that the jumper is more consistant?

I am trying to do a set up that mirrors the real world, and would like to know the difference between the ratings.

Ok.

But how big is the difference i performance, say between 1000 and 1300?

You can easily check it on your own.

Create a small pack of ski jumpers and name them:

"CPU 600" - adjust his skills to 600
"CPU 700" - adjust his skills to 700
"CPU 800" - adjust his skills to 800
...
"CPU 1600" - adjust his skills to 1600

Then play a "World cup" and check which level works for you.
