I am looking forward to hear more opinions on these.Jussi Koskela wrote: The first question is if the range of lines should be different in summer/winter modes. Different ranges might make it difficult to estimate how far you are jumping. Some hills are also missing the lines after HS in the plastic covering.
The second question is whether the real patterns should be replicated for each hill. The markings are not always as clear as they are currently in DSJ4 (e.g. Lahti), so it's a tradeoff between reality and clarity.

In my opinion lines should be different (summer/winter). Players know each hill well and it wouldn't disturb them.

To my mind a scheme of lines on each hill should be like in real, but their clarity can be improved, let mi say: as if hill has been prepared for more important competition for example World Championships.
What do you mean by "custom styles" ?Jussi Koskela wrote:So, maybe correct range of lines in the next version and custom styles in the following. Custom styles requires a lot more work.
Customized (=real) style of lines for each hill.nanucha wrote:What do you mean by "custom styles" ?Jussi Koskela wrote:So, maybe correct range of lines in the next version and custom styles in the following. Custom styles requires a lot more work.
It depends on how much work do you need to put in customizing the lines on each hill.Jussi Koskela wrote:Customized (=real) style of lines for each hill.nanucha wrote:What do you mean by "custom styles" ?Jussi Koskela wrote:So, maybe correct range of lines in the next version and custom styles in the following. as we see on real photo this lines are the same (the same lenght) but in dsj are getting longer......and longer...

How do you define what is "correct"? After all, the lines can be laid different way for each competition.bulwa11 wrote:well I dont really care for summer that much, but in future versions correct lines for winter hills would be awesome
I think is talking about lines after HS in winter, just like here:Jussi Koskela wrote:How do you define what is "correct"?
