Some of you may remember my DSJ2 AI project where I used reverse engineering and genetic algorithms to explore the limits of the game.
I continued the reverse engineering work, this time focusing on hill creation.
The result:
8 new hills for DSJ2.
Hills included:
Strachocina K30 (real hill, Poland)
Malta K65
Jamajka K82
Lahti K90 (real hill, Finland)
Peru K115
Planica K153 (real hill, Slovenia - historic profile)
Portugalia K175
Hoczew K270

Thanks to Jussi for his support, and to Dominik Machowiak, Adam Bałdyga and Krzysztof Ratajczyk for suggestions, testing and feedback.
It was only tested in dosbox on windows 10 and windows 11 and not in native dos environments.
One can use 10th anniversary key to unlock all 8 hills:

Re: New Hills Pack - 8 unofficial hills for DSJ2
I have been waiting for this since 2001 ...
Awesome amount of work. I think the community should be grateful to you for bringing back the nostalgia of year 2001 - the time of "Małyszomania" when Poland went absolutely crazy about ski jumping and DSJ2 game.
Have you thought about creating more hills from the "real-life"? It would be something special because there were no real-life hills in original DSJ 2.1.
In DSJ 2.1P - there were 5 real-life Polsh hills. Is it possible to implement them here?
Despite all the compromises needed, I'd go for the "real-life" hills, even if the mapping/replication is minimal due to game physics. I'd love to see the hills from the golden season of Adam Małysz - 2000/2001. Back then, the hills had only K-points.
I mean:
Kuopio K-120
Oberstdorf K-115
GaPa K-115
Innsbruck K-108
Bischofshofen K-120
Harrachov K-185
Salt Lake City K-120
Hakuba K-120
Sapporo K-120
Willingen K-120
Oberstdorf K-185
Falun K-115
Trondheim K-120
Oslo K-115
Planica K-185
